Namma Metro Yellow line: Bengaluru's Namma Metro Yellow line is expected to open soon as the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited got a new Managing Director (MD) Senior IAS officer Ravishankar. However, there are chances that the August 15 deadline will be missed. Following his appointment as the managing editor, Maheshwar Rao M, BBMP chief commissioner, was relieved from his additional position as MD of BMRCL. Also, the new MD assumes responsibility at a time when BMRCL is confronting multiple problems. BMRCL hopes to open the route with three sets of trains by August 15, according to a TOI report. Apart from this, the crucial safety inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) is likely to happen next week. Additionally, the BMRCL has received a very important safety certificate – the ISA certification. As per a TOI report, a senior BMRCL official said, "We have received the crucial Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) certification for the driverless train and signalling systems on the new line. We are currently reviewing documents before submitting them to CMRS. The inspection is likely to take place next week." Also, it is expected that Aug 15 deadline will be missed. Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya earlier said in a social media post, according to BMRCL, they may not achieve Aug 15 deadline, as per TOI report. "Last I spoke to BMRCL on June 17, they said Aug 15 may be difficult." Furthermore, the MP met Union minister for housing and urban affairs (MoHUA) Manohar Lal, to seek his intervention for early CMRS clearance and early commissioning of the line, the TOI report said.
