National Film Awards 2025 full winners list: At the 71st National Film Awards ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday honoured artistes from the Indian film industry, including stalwarts like Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji, for their outstanding contribution to cinema in 2023. The ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, with the winners having been announced earlier on August 1, 2025.Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour in Indian cinema, presented annually by the Government of India as part of the National Film Awards.The prestigious awards witnessed 332 entries in the feature film category, 115 in non-feature films, 27 books, and 16 critics’ submissions.The 71st National Film Awards were awarded for films released in 2023 because they are presented annually to honor excellence in Indian cinema, with the awards for a specific year typically given out the following year after the competition is completed.Major winnersBollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan (Jawan) and Vikrant Massey (12th Fail) jointly bagged the Best Actor award. This marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first National Film Award in his decades-long career.12th Fail won the Best Feature Film award, produced by VC Films LLP and directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.Flowering Man was named Best Non-Feature Film, while God Vulture and Human received the Best Documentary award, both winning their first-ever National Film Awards.Veteran actress Rani Mukerji was honoured with the Best Actress award for her powerful role in Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, also her first National Award.Veteran actor Vijayaraghavan (Pookkaalam) and Muthupettai Somu Bhaskar (Parking) shared the Best Supporting Actor award, while Urvashi (Ullozhukku) and Janki Bodiwala (Vash) were named Best Supporting Actress.The winners were announced by Shri Ashutosh Gowariker (Feature Film Jury Chairperson), Shri P. Sheshadri (Non-Feature Film Jury Chairperson), and Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan MN, Joint Secretary (Films). Ms. Mattu J. P.
