Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has earned a nomination at the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2025. On Thursday, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced that Dosanjh will compete in the Best Performance by an Actor category for his powerful portrayal in filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s acclaimed biopic Amar Singh Chamkila.Two nominations for Imtiaz Ali’s filmThe recognition does not end with Dosanjh’s individual nod. Amar Singh Chamkila, produced by Window Seat Films and streamed on Netflix, has also secured a nomination in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category. The biopic stands out as the lone Indian entry at this year’s International Emmys.In the film, Dosanjh plays the role of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was tragically gunned down in 1988 along with his singer-wife Amarjot, portrayed by Parineeti Chopra.Global competition in acting category- Dosanjh faces tough competition for the Best Actor award.
