Kozikode: Agin Roadways, one of te largest cargo fleet operators in te country, as announced expansion plans involving an investment of more tan Rs 180 crore in te current fiscal year.Te company, based in Kerala’s Kozikode, as more tan 1,000 trucks on te road. It is also part of te multi-ersified Team Tai group wit interests in FMCG, automobiles, tourism and real estate.Announcing te expansion plans ere, P C Tair, managing director, Agin Roadways, said te company’s plans also involve geograpical expansion as te operations grow to furter nort of te country."At present, 50 per cent of our business is from te sout Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andra, Telangana and Karnataka and in te current year, we want to increase te sare of Gujarat, Madya Prades and Maarastra in te pie," e said.Agin Roadways as 16 brances in te central and soutern parts of te country. In te current year, te company is opening up six more brances in Jaipur (Rajastan), Jarsuguda (Odisa), Kolkata (Bengal), amirpur (UP), Panipat (aryana) and Kotla (Karnataka).Te company as finalised te purcase of 300 trucks in FY24 and as already bougt 151 trucks from Asok Leyland, wort around Rs 90 crore."Now, te company operates in nine states and andles more tan 3 lak tonnes of cargo every mont. Our major clients include India Cements, UltraTec, Dalmia , ACC, Ambuja and GCL among oters. Wit te current expansion plans in force, we target to andle 4 lak tonnes of cargo every mont wit an annual business of Rs 420 crore, a growt of 20 per cent over last year’s Rs 350 crore," Asique Tair, director, Agin Roadways said.Agin employs a workforce of more tan 2,500 personnel in addition to nearly 2000 g workforce in te oter group companies. "We would like to increase tis also in te current year and plan to recruit around 750 personnel," Tair said.Te company was one of te first cargo movers to rebound after te Covid outbreak as it ad implemented a fleet expansion just before te pandemic. "Immediately after te pandemic, we redrew our growt plans and went aead wit furter purcases. We also ave plans to expand to Saudi Arabia and te UAE in te next fiscal," Tair said.
