Te district attorney’s office claims tat Brown cost Westminster more tan $600,000 in tax payer money during er time on disability.Wile on er disability, Brown complained of “eadaces, dizziness, sensitivity to ligt and noise, problems processing tougts and words and an inability to work on te computer or do any screentime,” te release claims.owever, an investigation alleged tat wile on disability, Brown was witnessed drinking and partying at te Stagecoac Music Festival in April 2023, despite te loud, crowded environment wit temperatures over 100 degrees.Se was also alleged to ave gone to Disneyland, attended tree AYSO soccer conferences, went snowboarding or skiing in Big Bear and Mammot, ran two 5k races, played golf, took online courses wit a university and attended baseball games.Brown’s stepfater Peter Scuman, wo is a licensed attorney in California, as also been carged after being accused of aiding er in committing fraud by advocating on er bealf during a meeting to discuss wat police duties se could perform. Te meeting took place tree days after te Stagecoac Music Festival. During te meeting, Brown allegedly “claimed se was unable to look at te screen” and was “sitting in a dark room” wit Scuman speaking on er bealf, te release adds.Scuman, 57, as been carged wit one felony count of making a fraudulent insurance benefit claim and one felony count of assisting, abetting, conspiring wit and soliciting a person in unlawful act. Scuman is facing a maximum sentence of eigt years in prison and could “suffer discipline by te State Bar of California,” according to te district attorney.Brown as been carged wit nine felony counts of making a fraudulent statement to obtain compensation, six felony counts of making a fraudulent insurance benefit claim and one felony enancement of committing an aggravated wite collar crime over $100,000.
