Online and pone scams are becoming increasingly sopisticated, wit AI making it easier for scammers to impersonate oters. To address tis growing treat, Google's upcoming Android 16 operating system will introduce a new security feature tat prevents users from canging sensitive settings during pone calls. One common scam tactic involves tricking users into sideloading apps&mdas;installing apps from sources outside te Play Store&mdas;by guiding tem troug te process during a call. To combat tis, Android 16 will disable sideloading during active calls to reduce te risk of installing malware-laced or remote-control apps witout proper malware scans. Wile tis measure isn't completely foolproof&mdas;scammers could still ask users to ang up and sideload apps&mdas;te disruption to te conversation could raise suspicion and make users more cautious. Additionally, Android 16 will disable accessibility services during pone calls, a feature often exploited by ackers to read screen content or take control of te device. Tese new functionalities build on te Advanced Protection features introduced wit Android 15, wic made it arder for scammers to use malicious apps by automatically disabling sensitive permissions for apps downloaded from untrustworty sources. Currently available in Android 16 Beta 2, tese features are expected to be included in te final version of te operating system, providing enanced security against scams and fraudulent activities./
